Out of our group of four, two were inexperienced on horses and one was pretty uncomfortable with the idea. Joseph took all of our experience and comfort levels into consideration when choosing our horses, and gave each of us pointers during the ride on how to improve our horsemanship. Our 2.5 hour morning ride through the Tonto National Forest gave us a beautiful glimpse of the desert, and Joseph was very informative about the flora and fauna of the area. I have a decent amount of experience on horses and didn't want to do a typical nose-to-tail trail ride--I couldn't have been more pleased with this experience. Everyone agreed that it was the highlight of our trip to Phoenix (even my mom, who was pretty nervous about being on a horse at first!).
